Questions homeowners ask before installing a rainwater system.
How much rainwater can my home collect?
It depends primarily on roof collection area, local rainfall and system efficiency. We use your property details and intended use to estimate realistic collection potential.
How big should my cistern be?
There is no single ideal size. Storage should be matched to collection area, available space, seasonal demand, budget and what you want the water to do.
Can rainwater be used inside the home?
Some indoor uses are possible, but requirements are more stringent and can involve treatment, backflow protection, permits and inspections. The exact design depends on the proposed use and local requirements.
Does the RDN offer a rebate?
Yes. The 2026 RDN Rainwater Harvesting Rebate is currently open for eligible properties, with up to $1,000 available subject to program criteria and remaining funds.
Do you service systems after installation?
Yes. Pumps, filters, screens and cistern systems need periodic inspection and maintenance, and we design with ongoing service in mind.
